The peace
messages from Beelitz Heilstätten refer to the phase between
1945 and 1994. As Soviet
military hospital
the whole area was prohibited area. The employment of
domestic workers in the thermal power station of the
sanatoriums as well as of craftsman from Beelitz and
surroundings helped to overcome the isolation of Russian
soldiers and the German population a little bit.
The contacts of the Soviet
officers and the national artist from Burjatia
Wladimir Borisowitsch Amokow with private persons
around the wood-carver circle Potsdam went far beyond the work
in military hospital. The personal and friendly
artistic exchange was free
from the military strategic mission of the garrison in
Beelitz. |
