A big number of kept
respectively still visible monuments belong to the former
airport Rangsdorf. Architectural striking is
undoubtedly the exemplary rehabilitated company estate in the
Walther-Rathenau-street
with the Bücker-villa, the
aero-club-house as a part of the
private grammar school
(Seeschule) with the memorial to the 60.anniversary of the
attempt on Hitler.
Unfortunately it didn’t succeed
to stop the dilapidation and the destruction of the listed
area, especially of the Bücker Company, or to give them a new
utilization. Hardly recognizable are the runway and the huts
of the hard labourer in the landscape.
The Development association
Bücker-aviation-museum e.V. succeeded in letting sporting
planes start and land here on the listed airfield with
international participation in the years 2000, 2001 and
especially 2005 and in proving the peaceful character of the
national and international aviation. |
