Covered under
pines, the typical trees of the Mark Brandenburg, there lays the
cradle of the astronautics: the rocket test stands of the
research
institution
of the army, build in the twenties and thirties in the
last century, and simultaneous the sphere of action of the space
pioneer Wernher von Braun. The civic action group "Kummersdorf –
Gut" uncovers carefully the technical facilities and leads a
growing number of visitors through the "jungle" of the Mark
Brandenburg - objective, informative and without exaggeration. |

The location of
several clinics Beelitz – Heilstätten looks back on a 100 years
old history: after 40 years civil utilization there follows
almost 50 years existence as central military hospital of the
UdSSR army. A very special witness of technology history is the
preserved thermal power station in a unique forest- and
architecture scenery. Still today the 4 metres high sculptures
of the artist Wladimir Borisowitsch Amokow testify to the heroes
and the dead, who were killed for the freedom and the
independence. |

From the small airfield in
Rangsdorf Colonel Claus Schenk Earl of Stauffenberg started his
tragic flight to Hitler’s headquarters with a bomb in his
briefcase on the 20. July 1944. Nevertheless with Rangsdorf
associates also the destiny of a High–Tech–company: the Bücker
aircraft construction, a pioneer company of the German civil–
aviation before the World War II. |
